Greener living roadshows

The Greener Living Roadshow is being delivered by the Trust, who are working in partnership with Wiltshire Council to take the environmentally-friendly living message out to the people of Wiltshire.

The next two roadshows will have a festive theme and will take place in Chippenham on the 20th November and Devizes on the 27th November at the Christmas Lights Switch on events. More details will follow shortly.

“People are becoming increasingly aware of the effect their lives are having on the planet and many are already taking action to change their behaviour to lessen their impact,” says the Trust's Emma Harrington, the roadshow organiser.

“The roadshow is ideal for anyone interested in making a difference,” adds Emma. “Perhaps you’ve just started thinking about the environment and would like some help on how to get going, or perhaps you are already a fair bit green.”

“But whatever it is that you do – be it recycling, composting or growing your own vegetables – it’s always possible to make improvements on what you’re doing and take on new challenges.”

Trust staff and other advisers will be on hand at these events to offer advice and information on a range of issues, including climate change and wildlife; how to cut down waste, reduce energy use and save water; grow your own vegetables, collect seeds and make gardens wildlife-friendly; environmentally-friendly transport options available; how to make ethically and environmentally sound choices at the shops; and how to get involved in your local area by taking part in volunteering opportunities.
The new series of the Trust’s Greener Living Roadshow events, which kicked-off on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th October at Stourhead Uncovered, follows on from the success of the first which was held earlier this year.

There will be a total of eight events, taking place in:

Amesbury
Chippenham
Devizes
Melksham
South West Wiltshire
Tidworth
Westbury
Wootton Bassett & Cricklade
