Then we are here to help you.
The Environment and Waste Education Team at the Trust can provide in-school support for pupils and teachers with the following:
- Leading/supporting eco-group meetings, guiding the children’s ideas and helping to lead staff planning
- INSET training for the whole staff on the government’s sustainable schools strategy or the Eco-Schools’ programme
- Implementing actions
- Maintaining momentum
Through this work, we hope to ensure an on-going commitment from the schools we work with to reduce their carbon footprints, and operate in a more sustainable manner.
Assemblies and workshops
We have a variety of exciting assemblies and workshops covering the different Eco-Schools topics to support your on-going environmental work.
We charge £20 per activity (an activity is either an assembly, 1-hour workshop, 1-hour advice session, or 1-hour eco-committee session).
How to run a whole school litter campaign
Primary School Litter Education Pack
This exciting new education pack for Primary schools has been written by the Education Team at the Wiltshire Wildlife Trust to support the Campaign to Protect Rural England's Stop the Drop anti-litter campaign. The pack looks at the various issues surrounding litter, and has a strong emphasis on the effect of litter on wildlife and marine life.
It provides information, practical resources, presentations, posters, lesson and activity ideas and an illustrated storybook for use with the younger years. All of the chapters and supporting resources are available to download - so good luck and happy litter busting!
